Since we last checked in, Flavorpill has been surveying a wide range of artists in a variety of mediums. Yale graduate Rosson Crow impresses with her large-scale, classically inspired interior paintings, and Doug Aitken — famous for his Sleepwalkers video installation — is at it again with an exhibition at 303 Gallery in New York. Aitken's show takes a romantic look at the large animals, roadside motels, and bright neon signs that characterize the American West.
Valero Doval's illustration of a euro boxing an American dollar serves as a lighthearted representation of the tension around the ongoing financial crisis in New York, while illustrator Van Arno's painting reflects a slightly more wistful tone in Los Angeles. Finally, we're pleased to introduce you to the fantastically graphic, sci-fi inspired paintings of Scott Anderson. His work is currently on view at Fecal Face Dot Gallery in San Francisco, and can also be seen on his website.
We're always looking for new cover artwork — from individuals, galleries, and collectives — so take a moment to check out our design specs, and spread some flavor.

This Is NYC & Company: Marketing New York
 |
|
NYC & Company is the official marketing and tourism arm of New York City. The company's mission is to make sure New Yorkers, and everyone else, really do love New York. Under the direction of Willy Wong, the first ever New York City Creative Director, the organization has launched a series of campaigns that use contemporary advertising techniques to market the city itself. For an example of its novel approaches, take a look at Just Ask the Locals — a set of slick posters and commercials featuring local celebrities — or This Is New York City, a collection of information brochures and flashy animated videos that celebrates everything the urban mecca has to offer.

Cover Designs
We encourage you to express
visually what you like about or what's happening in your city — NYC, CHI, LA, SF, or LDN. Or just submit cool designs because they would look great at the top of our mailers.
We're also always looking for good music-based covers for Earplug.
Credits & Specs
Flavorpill covers are 440 x 155 pixels, and Earplug covers are 444 x 129. Do something specific for the size, or crop something to make it fit. Either way works.
If we decide to run your design, we'll ask you for a bio, which will link directly from your work.
